RP Example with Event Just a very brief tutorial, especially on how events interact with the rest of the site! Now for the general rules for the adoptable. Quick Bit of Information. So, this will be an RP Example, featuring an event to help show others what we're going for. For those of you fairly new to RPing, a few simple words of suggestion. RPing is about more than just the actions of your Thyci. Like any good book, a good RP post needs a setting, a story, and a well defined character. If you're struggling to hold an RP thread - remember to double check you have those three things. Setting up well described location can give you all kinds of pieces of information to work into your own post. Is there a lot of grass tickling the legs of the Thyci? Can you hear wild life? Is there a near by pond, or the sounds of a bubbling stream? All kinds of little background information can be used as filler information to help set a setting to a post. A story is more than just a plot that is going on. For a thread to read well, and be equally involved for all parties, it does help to have a plot to go off of, but the posts also need to tell the story behind the plot. What led your Thyci to that location? What made them decided to try that patch of grass? Answering some of those hows, whys, and whats can help flesh out a story and even help you learn more about your Thyci in the process. Which leads us to a well defined character. As you RP with your Thyci more, you want to try and flesh out their character more. The whole point is to create stories with other member's Thyci's and give your Thyci more of a 'web-life'. Don't just write their words, add fillers with the emotions on their face, or their thoughts on a situation. Don't hesitate to give your character . . . well more character. It will ultimately give your partner more to respond to in their own reply back to you, as well as help you connect more with your character. If you ever need help learning to roleplay better, or how to write a good post, don't hesitate to message Dyzzie. If enough members ask for help in learning how to write up RP posts better, she'll look into adding a 'How to RP' Board and provide more indepth pointers on how to write better posts, flush out more complete characters, and more.
