When he commented that time had been stretched too long, she lightly shifted a hoof, cloven texture leaving twin furrows in it's wake, even as her tail flicked a few times of it's own free will,
"Well, they say distance makes a heart grow fonder, so I'm sure time does something good as well,"
She told him, faintly amused, even as she did have to think about the time they did have together. It was shocking to think they'd only known each other for a short time, not too long, and yet, there where times where she felt like they'd always been together . . . er close to each other . . . either way.She glanced towards him, smiling delicately at the male, before the smile turned to a shocked drop of her mouth as she practically gaped at the audacity of his words,
"Coy!"
She hissed, looking around to see if anyone was nearby who might have heard him speak, "I can't believe you just said that!"
Her voice was practically squeaking, her face flushing beneath the rich brown that kept the fact disguised. Of course, expect her mate to be the one to take things in such a direction. Not that she'd admit that her thoughts had shifted a few times when contemplating homes, and locking one another away. Now he was plotting to savage her - she shook her head quickly, her forelock dancing against her forehead as she shook those thoughts away - far away, "What if someone had heard! Bedroom talk is for the bedroom!"
She hissed lowly. She had touched his side again, an action that was still new to her, her willingness to touch him - but why couldn't she touch his side, feel his fur against hers, the solid reassurance he was still real, that he was there, that he was hers . . . It was a new thing, this partial talk they were having that was leading her to be more open with how she felt - to herself, to him . . . but, but he was hers, her everything . . . and so it was only natural for her to be more eager to be close - wasn't it. But she still hadn't admitted to him . . . thankfully those tables moved, the cranks started working, the path was paved - by him saying it first. She had been silent at first, struggling with the proof, before finally, she found her voice to speak back.
One look, one look at his beautiful, expressive eyes and she knew it was the right thing to do. Of course, they hadn't had a chance to say anything else - before the beautiful moment had been ruined by a creature of the night. The two had fleed - or rather, Cally had, with Coy following - but once they had escaped, Coy had flopped to the dirt, panting as he shifted back. Immediately she was lunging forward, shifting as she went, the green glow drawing out of her skin, as her form returned to normal, She curled up next to him, a faint shaking still notable by her trembling, her spine still a touch shift as she cuddled against his side, searching for his comfort, for the safety she felt in his presence.
It was moments like this that she realized how much smaller she was to him, not enough to be mistaken for a youth - but small enough to easily curl up against him, tucking her head under his, her muzzle touching his forelimbs, as her cheek was pressed to his chest, her horn carefully angled away from him. Cally... My world doesn't exist without you. He started speaking suddenly, as her brown, green shimmered eyes glanced up at him, both set of ears angling towards him as he spoke, his promise to never leave her side, that his heart was hers and nobody/nothing could change that fact. His words had a relaxing effect as the doe's trembling slowed to a stop, her own breath evening out, her body relaxing against his.
However, if I had known how easily you would rush into the maze at a little fright... She huffed at his teasing, even as she bit back a smile, her teeth grasping at a lock of fur on his chest to gently tug it,
"If you ever purposely scare me, you'd find yourself kicked out of a thicket, and a cave."
She threatened playfully, before tilting her head at the unfamiliar names he'd graced her with, "Zoe? Wolfe? Do you have new herd members?"
She asked curiously, as she lifted her head to look at him more clearly - even though she didn't move an inch from where her side was pressed up against his, "You wouldn't need to scare me into the maze anyway . . . you've got puppy dog eyes from hell, they're worse when you shift to a coyote . . . What can I say? I just can't say no to you."
Well, not verbally anyway. She still had no intention of accepting his hidden berries . . . though, if verbally asked if they wished to share some berries, she had the feeling her resolve would fade.[/font][/ul][/div]
