Reporting An Event! Okay, so did you get an event in your thread, how lucky! Well, here's all you need to know about events, as well as where you can report getting them so a staff member can add any items necessary - or complete any encounters you have. First, what is an event? An Event is a special encounter you get when you post in certain boards, and can be anything from finding items, to finding rp points or stat points, to even encountering enemies or coming across cute scenes. (If you have a suggestion for an event, feel free to PM the Encounter Account with the title being Event Suggestion.) When these happen you'll have no choice but to accept the encounter/event. But it's up to you to RP what you'll do about it! Your choices will depend where the event takes you (especially in enemy encounters!) How an Event works is quite simple, first and foremost - make sure you report it in this thread! This helps us keep track of events that happen, and avoids us accidentally missing your event which risks the possibility of you not getting your items, or your encounter with an enemy not happening. It is up to you to alert us when an event happens, and failure to do so resulting in loss of items, or stat points will not be in any fault of the staff of The Thicket. Now then, for an event to happen, it's all random chance. When you get an item found - when it's reported to us, we will edit your inventory to reflect your found item. RP Points found are directly added to your account here, and will be added to your RP Point Total in the Tally Page at a later time. If you encounter a fluff piece, these are just to give you cute scenes you can RP about. Including them in your posts might earn you bonus points. Ignoring them allows you to continue your thread with no consequences. Encounters with enemies most be responded to, whether it's with a Thyci running away, or preparing a counter attack. How you respond will determine the outcome of the encounter, as well as any prizes you might receive upon winning the encounter/fight. Fluff Pieces is the term used for events that don't really give you any direct items, or rewards for interacting with them. They are pieces of written scenery that allows you to interact with the natural world. It can be from noticing a pretty flower, to seeing a rabbit hopping past. These pieces CAN be ignored, however incorporating them into your RP post (and posting here to let us know you received the event) could score you some bonus RP points depending on how you interact, and how much you incorporate the event into your post(s). Creature Encounters is the term used for events that introduce you to some sort of creature that you must choose how to respond to. You CANNOT ignore these events, doing so can have severe negative consequences on your character in the thread - including an attack by the animal and having to be rescued by another Thyci. When you get these encounters, there will be an HP range of what the HP of the creature might be. It will always be somewhere between the two sets of numbers. How you respond to this event determines the way the encounter will run. Each post used to respond to the encounter (whether you're running from the creature, or attempting to interact with it) will require a staff member to roll for success or failure in whatever actions you take. Winning the encounter (having the creature's HP drop to below a certain point) will also net you some cool rewards too! Creature Encounters are also great for multi-player threads, as all Thyci involved can be part of the encounter, and be eligible for prizes too! So remember to post here when you have an encounter! As I've stated many times, please please please post here when you have an Event, so we know that you've got one and can act accordingly. It's completely necessary for all events to be ran and finalized for us to know about them. While we will try hard to be aware of them when they happen, accidents do happen, and some might slip past our radar. So help us, out and post here. All we need is a link to the thread where the event is happening, and what type of event is going on. We hope you enjoy the events! |
